Sharon Mascall is an award-winning columnist of The Melbourne Age and broadcasts regularly from Australia for the BBC in London. Known for her work as a reporter and presenter of European programmes for BBC television and radio, she moved to Melbourne with her family in 1999.

Her enthusiasm for the bush has taken her on several Outback assignments including a series on the Year of the Outback for BBC World Service radio in 2002. She has two children and has been known to compete in occasional ocean swims and triathlon.
