Steve Strike is often accused of being permanently on holiday. He thinks that’s a bit rough and prefers to define his state of being as “the epitome of lifestyle”. Steve finds it a bit of a joke that he is often generously remunerated for his travels into the wilds of Outback Australia by total strangers who live in polluted, overpopulated cities.

In the past, Steve has travelled down a number of different career paths. Some 20 years ago, one of those paths led to Alice Springs. It wasn’t long before someone at the local paper put a camera in his hand and said “go for it”. A short time later his business, Outback Photographics, was born out of sheer demand for a good image. Steve says he’s had some dream jobs over the years but nothing has been more rewarding than winning the “Bush Turkey Award” for the last nine years. Steve reckons no one else has ever done that.

Advertising and editorial assignments throughout Northern and Outback Australia are Steve’s main focus today.
